Cross Country
PHS cross country welcomes all ages and abilities - doesn't matter if it is a senior trying it for the first time or a freshman committed to being all-state. There are no cuts and everybody competes. All we ask is that each participant gives 100% at each practice - a strong work ethic is what helps each individual reach their fullest potential as a runner by the end of the season. In addition to running, we incorporate strength training and running education into our practices.
Practices/meets are Monday thru Saturday, and everyone is expected to attend all practices. Races are typically a 5K on non-paved surfaces, and we typically attend 10 meets before the state meet; all teams advance to the state meet, but only the top seven runners race in the state meet.
